As time goes on, more and more potential customers have the need for newer hardware. After all, the current Dasharo coreboot models feature a 12th generation Intel Alder Lake processor, while we have now reached the 14th generation Intel Meteor Lake.
Furthermore, DDR4 internal memory has now been succeeded by DDR5, and the tradition of a 16:9 screen ratio is now being replaced by the 16:10 screen ratio. It is therefore time to introduce two new laptop series. Discover what’s new!
Dasharo coreboot firmware
Our coreboot firmware is optimised for security, transparency and better user experience. You will benefit from at least 5 years of firmware updates.
New Intel processor series
The new generations have an Intel Metor Lake processor which is up to 46% faster* than its predecessor. Discover productivity you’ve never experienced before.

* Intel Core Ultra 7 155H compared to the Intel Core i7-1260P, based on the CPU Mark Rating as of the 2nd of April, 2024.
** This battery life indication is a realistic value based on a mix of light tasks in Windows 11 such as web surfing and watching videos on the V54 Series with Ultra 7 155H processor and without dedicated Nvidia graphics card. The battery life indication is highly dependent on the intensity of the laptop use and the health of the battery. Therefore, no rights can be derived from this value.
Enhancing security with Intel Boot Guard
Starting from the upcoming firmware releases including those of the new V54 and V56 Series, we will introduce Intel Boot Guard as a recommended option to further improve the security of your system. This feature integrates into your platform, ensuring that it can only boot with firmware officially signed by our firmware experts. This effectively mitigates the risk of booting a rootkit.
What’s next …
LVFS/fwupd support?
We are working on Capsule Updates, allowing us to update the firmware even more securely as security mechanisms no longer need to be temporarily disabled. We can then also serve firmware updates via LVFS. We hope to realise this in Q3-2024.
Qubes OS?
Qubes OS is a great operating system if security is your top priority. We will apply these new models for Qubes OS certification in July. Hopefully, these models are certified in August 2024. The feasibility is estimated at 75%.
Heads firmware?
With Heads firmware, you can verify the integrity of your laptop’s firmware and boot process. This creates a reliable chain-of-trust. We are currently investigating the feasibility to realise this alternative firmware version for these new models.
