Hi,
Unfortunately, I'm not having much luck updating the coreboot firmware from 1.6.0 on an nv41 laptop NV4XPZ. Just bought it new a few months ago. Haven't changed the firmware in any way, this is how it shipped.
One direction said use firmware update option in firmware. No such option in 1.6.0
Other option is:
- connect ethernet cable (and power)
- make sure secureboot disabled, check (reset to defaults just to make sure)
- boot into iPXE Network Boot
- boot into Dasharo Tools Suite (boots into DTS 1.2.17 online)
- option 5: Update Dasharo firmware
flash info: vendor="Programmer" name="Opaque flash chip"
flash size: 32M
current version: 1.6.0
latest available: 1.7.2
passes GPG checks
Verify matches hardware: NV4xPZ Yes
following firmware will be used:
dasharo BIOS firmware: novacustom_nv4x_adl_v1.7.2.rom
dasharo EC firmware: novacustom_nv4x_adl_ec_v1.7.2.rom
update? Yes
checks gpg keys, good
Error:
"Device does not have Dasharo EC firmware - cannot continue update! : (1)"
I hit option #1 to send HCL report
Nothing else I can do at this point. I'd appreciate some help with this.
I'm not about to do the manual method, not with my current luck.
Thanks
