Fransen Hello, thank you for your post!
So normally, under Windows or Ubuntu, the battery life is about 5 to 6 hours.*
*This battery life indication is a realistic value based on a mix of light tasks in Windows 11 such as web surfing and watching videos. This was tested with WiFi enabled, Bluetooth disabled, the screen brightness level at 50% and the keyboard backlight enabled at the lowest brignlevel. The battery life indication is highly dependent on the intensity of the laptop use and the health of the battery. Therefore, no rights can be derived from this value.
Qubes OS is an operating system that is demanding more power due to its virtualisation technology. Sadly, this affects the battery life. I estimate that the battery life with a few VMs is about 50 - 60% of Ubuntu and Windows, which means 2 - 3 hours for Qubes OS on the NV41 Series. With a lot of VMs running it the same time, it may be even worse.
OpenBSD is most likely better than Qubes OS when it comes to battery life, but most likely worse than Ubuntu. I say most likely as we don't have experience with this OS.
I hope this helps! I also hope maybe some other users will write here to share their battery life experience for the NV41 Series ☺.
